Natural glass inclusions in the form of atolls in an unheated ruby

Natural glass inclusions in the form of atolls in an unheated ruby from the Thai-Cambodian border (also known as "Siam rubies"). When these rubies are heated at high temperatures, this natural glass acts as a flux and locally dissolves the ruby, destroying the delicate structure seen here.
