Inclusion of an orange pyrope almandine garnet crystal in a diamond
We recently received for analysis a brilliant round diamond weighing 1.81 carats. Graded P3 in clarity, this gemstone contained various inclusions, including a small group of closely associated prismatic crystals with a vivid orange color. Thanks to their relatively large size, these crystals were identified by Raman spectroscopy as pyrope almandine, a species of garnet.
