This corundum was heated with the traditional blow pipe technique, there are no significant change in its appearance. Blow pipe heating has been used for centuries and is still a common technique today to enhance the colour of corundum. This treatment is typically applied to intensify or lighten the colour in corundums, or sometimes to remove an undesirable secondary hue.
